It all started when Bobby and Lindsay decided they would start having "recreational" sex It was supposed to involve no emotion whatsoever. Well, they fell in love with each other. Of course, niether of them was willing to admit it to the other, and when Lindsays good friend Helen asked Lindsay to set her up with Bobby, Lindsay did so, in hope to mask her own love for Bobby. It was not the end, Bobby became uncertain in his relationship with Helen. Bobby said it was because he wanted to make sure Lindsay was ok about it. Anyway, they were having this conversation in "Save The Mule" and Bobby began undoing Lindsay's shirt and she said "This is the last time." Tears were shed, as the audience watched what we thought was the end of the worlds greatest couple.
However, the biggest murder trial of the year saw Helen and Bobby (still dating) pinned against each other at the trial. Their strong feelings for each other were not enough to deter either of them from trying to desperately win this case.
Helen won, signalling the end of their relationship, the break-up also having to do with Lindsay telling Helen about her and Bobby's past adventures and then confessing her love to Bobby. As Helen eloquently put it to Bobby "It's dead."
Then there was an agonising hold on the relationship, they came so close many times, but it took a long time for them to get it together. The climax was at the firms Christmas party, things had been heating up since they shared a kiss during the Pearson trial. Bobby and Lindsay found themselves in his office discussing their situation. It was after the firm had just won a civil case filed against them by Susan Robins family. It went something like this:
Lindsay: So, we're still in business.
Bobby: Yeah we are, unless you're considering leaving?
Lindsay: What?
Bobby: Helen said something.
Lindsay Oh. I'm not going anywhere..I should be honest, I don't mean to be cold...it's not that I am not intersted, I just know it wouldn't be right..we work together..I am listening to my head on this one.
Bobby: Yeah Lindsay (mockingly) You and your heart, been so outta control.
Lindsay: (smiling) what's that supposed to mean?
Bobby: Nothing, just that you're right, I am going with your head too.
Lindsay: Good. Merry xmas Bobby
Bobby: Merry xmas.
They exchange a short chaste little peck, before pulling away, not very far though, staring intently into each others eyes, we know they're gonna get together..
Bobby: Lindsay I...
Lindsay: Puts her hand to his face..'shhh' She kisses him, he deepens the kiss.
Thus the relationship started, causing a few problems inside the firm, that were resolved quickly.
At the end of the series, Lindsay was stabbed by Ellenors friend George (dresses in a nun suit) and was rushed to hospital, where she was lucky to survive, Bobby realising his overwhelming love for Lindsay, proposed to her that night as she recovered (in the presnec of Helen, who just wouldn't leave them alone) Lindsay said yes, and at the end of the following season, they were married.
